Step 2: Handle with Care
Pumpkins are sensitive! Try to touch them only when absolutely necessary. The natural oils on your fingers can speed up the rotting process, and we don't want that.
Step 3: Scoop It out Completely
When it's time to carve your pumpkin, don't rush. Whether you're using a fancy carving kit, the classic ice-cream-scooper trick, or your trusty hands, be thorough. Leftover pumpkin insides are like an open invitation for insects and will make your pumpkin go bad faster than you can say "trick-or-treat."
Step 4: Make a Pumpkin Spray 
Carving your pumpkin exposes its tender insides, which can dry out in no time. Fight this by giving your pumpkin a spritz! Some folks recommend using beach-based solutions or hairspray, but if you prefer a chemical-free approach, mix 1 part Mildew Cure® with 20 parts water.

Step 5: Let it Dry

But remember, results can vary depending on the weather. For pumpkin longevity, spray your creation daily with the Mildew Cure solution to keep it fresh and fend off fungi and bacteria.
Step 6: Keep Moisture Out
Instead of carving out the top, try cutting a hole in the bottom of your pumpkin and remove the piece. This clever trick not only makes lighting the candle or solar light easier, but also prevents moisture from pooling at the bottom, which can speed up the rotting process.
